Every human individual had a sin made and to be repented on this day of Lenten Season, but as it should not be to happened on this day of what they called it as “Lenten Season or Holy Week”. If someone committed a sin, it should be asked for such a forgiveness.
We Filipinos, especially Christian, Catholics celebrates this Lenten Season or what they called it as “Holy Week”. During this day; fasting, praying, and reconciling with the Lord. It is to some Filipinos called this “kuwaresma”, wherein Filipino people recall Christ’s passion, his suffering, death and resurrection. Lenten Season or Holy Week is a 40 days season of prayer, fasting, and alms giving that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends at sundown on Holy Thursday to sundown on Easter Sunday. It’s a period of preparation to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter. In Ash Wednesday, people would usually attend church mass, and get marked with a cross sign on the forehead with ash by the priest, as a sign of repentance. During Lent, we seek the Lord in prayer by reading Sacred Scripture; we serve by giving alms, and we practice self-control through fasting. We are called not only to abstain from luxuries, but to a true inner conversion of heart as we seek to follow Christ’s will more faithfully. We recall the waters of baptism, in which we were also baptized into Christ’s death, died to sin and evil, and begin new life in Christ. In here, for the whole week of Lenten Season or Holy Week, we will heard sacred songs and “pabasa”. All radio and TV networks join this week as a celebration of peace, peace of mind, and internally worshipping of what had Our Dear Lord had done for us; his people. On Holy Thursday, pabasa was done and on Holy Friday, it depicts that Our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and on Black Saturday is a mourning day. On Easter Sunday, it depicts that God had risen from his death which they called it as “resurrection”. That Our Dear Lord Jesus Christ rose from his death and as it was written in prophecy from the Bible. From the scripture or verse of the Bible and it says that; John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Does this Lenten Season or Holy Week was celebrated from year to year in honor of what had Our Dear Lord Jesus Christ had done for us; his people.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there is no hindrance to celebrate this important event in every Filipino lives. We celebrate this Lenten Season, but we must follow Government and Health Protocols for us not to be infected with the virus. The celebration of Lenten Season is an important event to one’s Christian life, because it will reminded of the sacrifice that Our Dear Lord Jesus Christ done to the sins of his people. He sacrifice His own life for the forgiveness of sin to every Christian in this world. Thus, the “Unconditional Love of God” really depicts the Lenten Season or Holy Week.
